Botanical Print

This beautiful print by Ogawa Kazumasa has been remastered and digitally enhanced to make a great art print that stands out on any wall. The photo originating from around 1887 is a photomechanical print and has beautiful pastel colours. After opening his own photography studio and working as an English interpreter for the Yokohama Police, Ogawa decided to make a trip to the United States to learn first hand the advanced photographic techniques of the time. He studied for a long time and studied many printing techniques including the complicated collotype process with which he'd make his name upon returning to Japan.
